Works in Progress

These will take a while to complete, but here’s a sneak peek into what’s in the works:

A 33-year-old nurse named Angelica wakes with a haunting feeling of dread for the day. Yet when she and her children head out to the welcoming waters of Galveston Bay, the day is warm, sunny, and inviting.

This delightful family outing turns into harrowing tragedy, however, when the Great Storm of 1900 reaches Galveston.

Angelica’s husband, Andrew Hope, who owns a lumber yard in Galveston, also experiences the abrupt change. He recognizes the danger, but he’s too late.

Not knowing the outcome of her husband’s travails, and filled with overwhelming grief at the loss of everything she holds dear, Angelica ventures out into the storm in search of Andrew. She doesn’t get far. She pauses by a tree, loses her spectacles, and gets bitten by a venomous snake. But Angelica’s life has been fraught with disasters and misfortunes mixed with overcoming miracles, and this time is no different. As she passes out, her past plays out, her memories filled with encounters that remind her of God’s amazing grace, wisdom, purpose, and care.

Angelica’s background has prepared her for the fateful day of September 8, 1900. The next chapters reflect  the challenges, trials, and victories God has given her to be prepared for this pinnacle day. The last chapter reveals His supernatural plan.
